Tensas Parish set to welcome participants from Louisiana and Mississippi in the next stop of the 2013 Frog Giggin’ Tournament Series by Riverbank Products.

July 8th, 2013— Tensas Parish, Louisiana, located in the north east corner of the state, may be the least populated parish in the Louisiana, but for frog giggers, that means miles and miles of areas ripe for catching big bullfrogs in the 2013 Frog Giggin Tournament Series by Riverbank Products.

The Frog Giggin Tournament Series by Riverbank Products started in 2012 and unlike a bass tournament, this is a team event.  Teams must work together and search for frogs on Friday night within a 60 mile radius of the tournament weigh in location. Total bag limit per team is 10 frogs, and biggest frog and biggest bag weight will receive payouts. This family friendly tournament is fun for everyone and provides an excellent opportunity to introduce young people to the outdoors while being equally challenging for the seasoned outdoorsmen.

“We’ve found some great partners for the tournament in Tenas Parish. From Tensas State Bank, to Newelton First Baptist, and the Tensas Parish Police Jury, it looks like we’ll have a good event” said Tournament Official Chris Porter .  The tournament will start Friday Aug 16th with the weigh-in held on Saturday morning Aug 17th. Additional events include a pancake breakfast, as well as the Great American Bull Frog Race.  Much like herding cats, teams encourage their frog to run the length of the race course.  The first frog to cross the finish line wins. It’s sure to make for great entertainment.

“This is the third tournament in the 2013 series.”  Porter said. “With the natural resources that north east Louisiana has offer, It should make a good fit for some great frog giggin’.  As if that’s not enough, when you couple that with parts of Western Mississippi that are in our boundary and all of the oxbows and irrigation canals, it’s going to be challenging and fun to see who can pull the biggest toads out of the mud.”

Early Registration is $50/team until August 9th while standard registration is $60/team. Teams are encouraged to pre register online at www.riverbankproducts.com  Additional sponsorship opportunities are still available for additional information, contact Chris Porter at 479-435-8774
